AHS Follow-Up Parkinson's Disease Validation
* indicates required field
This study was performed to validate Parkinson’s disease (PD) in the Agricultural Health Study (AHS) cohort. There were 238 participants from the AHS Phase II and Phase III follow-ups, 364 from the Phase IV follow-up, 54 from an National Death Index (NDI) linkage, and 16 from the AHS Memory Study identified as having reporting Parkinson’s disease. Once these self-reported PD cases were identified, participants or next of kin were contacted to confirm the disease self-report. For those who confirm the disease, the release of medical records was requested. For living participants, a buccal or saliva sample was also requested for DNA extraction.
